Dr. John Gburek

Dr. Gburek was born in Buffalo, NY, and spent his early years attending elementary school as a Bee Cave Bobcat in the suburbs of Austin. He later experienced life in various parts of the Midwest, including Minnesota, Illinois, and Michigan, while always reminiscing about the gentle Austin winters.

During his academic journey, Dr. Gburek pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) through the Medical Scholars Program at Michigan State University. He then completed an Anesthesiology residency at Rush University Medical Center (RUMC) in Chicago, Illinois, followed by a Fellowship in Chronic Pain Medicine.

Professionally, Dr. Gburek possesses extensive expertise in neurostimulation, which offers patients a means to manage chronic pain when the underlying cause cannot be eliminated or treated. His specialization also encompasses ultrasound and fluoroscopically guided injections, among other skills.

Embracing a comprehensive approach to pain management, Dr. Gburek is open to discussing spirituality, mental, and emotional health with those who seek such conversations. His ultimate goal is to use his abilities to enable patients to concentrate on their loved ones and passions, rather than their pain.

Outside of work, Dr. Gburek engages in water sports, having developed a love for sailing in his youth, and relishes jetskiing. Additionally, he takes pleasure in playing golf, tasting wines, and cherishing moments with friends and family.
